Class Evaluation

Some things I liked about this class was having free time. I also liked that we didn't need to write anything because we were always on the computer. I also enjoyed researching medical related careers because it inspired me to become one.

Some things i did not like about the class were the songs that will be played. The songs would annoy me and distract me sometimes from my work. I think next time we should listen to calm music that would let us concentrate better.

I would reccomend to play calm music and less stories and less songs because i hear a lot of people complaining about them.

A highlight from this class was one of the medical pathways we had to do. We had the option to choose our own and I researched a trauma surgeon and now i want to be one.

I did do my best in this class even though it was not my favorite class. Id try my best to get all of my assignments done.

I am not reading my Life planning Goal journal everyday because i dont think they will all come true even if I really try.

I am committed to be a ctr person because I dont want to end up behind bars or in a graveyard.

“When you tell one lie it leads to another”

Reflection:
I think that this means when you tell a lie it becomes a habit and you keep saying lies to cover up for the other ones. And then when you keep lying everyone will know that your lying and nobody will end up believing you even when you tell the truth.

An example would be if you have bad manners that you'll be a bad person and that if you have good manners then you'll be a good person. If you do things like helping people or say nice thing you'll be a good person but if you don't do things like that you will be a bad person.

I think that this quote means if something isn’t right you shouldn't be doing it and if something isn’t true then don't say it. For example, if someone told you something that wasn’t true, then you shouldn't go telling everyone because you know it's a lie and if someone tells you to do something that's not right you shouldn't do it because you know that it isn't right thing to do.

Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated in Canada and the United States. It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well. Prayers of thanks and special thanksgiving ceremonies are common among almost all religions after harvests and at other times. The Thanksgiving holiday's history in North America is rooted in English traditions dating from the Protestant Reformation. It also has aspects of a harvest festival, even though the harvest in New England occurs well before the late-November date on which the modern Thanksgiving holiday is celebrated.

“Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody expects of you. Never excuse yourself.”

Reflection:
I think that this means you need to do the most you can and more than others expect of you. This means to work extra hard on everything such as homework class work studying. You shouldn't excuse yourself from doing that by doing a lot less and being satisfied with that. You should always do more and more.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day
What is Veterans Day?
a public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I (November 11) to honor US veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954.
When is it?
November 11
What is the purpose of Veterans Day?
In the USA, Veterans Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their services to the United States on Veterans Day.
Why is it important to show honor on Veterans Day?
It is important to continue honoring veterans because it is a way of acknowledging the sacrifices they have made while serving their country. Without the service of veterans, Americans may not have the freedoms they do today.
List several ways to show honor on Veterans Day.
  •  Place flowers/flags on the graves of veterans.
  • Proudly display your American flag.
  •  Help a homeless veteran through VA services.
  • Visit a local retirement home and chat with some elderly veterans who will share their stories.
  • Volunteer at a VA Hospital.

Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often.

Reflection:
I think that this quote means that if you want to do something right now, don't sacrifice what you want the most for what you want now. An example is if you want to go to the gym everyday to put on muscle. If you want to do that but your friends invite you to the movies you can't sacrifice what you want right now than what you want the most.

History of homecomings:
Homecoming is an annual tradition in the United States. People, towns, high schools, and colleges come together, usually in late September or early October, to welcome back alumni and former residents. It is built around a central event, such as a banquet and, most often, a game of football, or, on occasion, basketball, ice hockey or soccer.

Why do we celebrate homecomings?

Those who return to their high school for homecoming after having graduated do so to celebrate their high school, see old friends and remember memories of that time of their lives. Students who are currently in high school celebrate homecoming to show school spirit and support whatever athletic teams and clubs are going on during that period of time.
