Duties and responsibilities:

• Diagnosing oral disease
• Promoting oral health and disease prevention.
• Creating treatment plans to maintain or restore the oral health of their patients
• Interpreting x-rays and diagnostic tests
• Ensuring the safe administration of anesthetics so the patients won't feel pain
• Monitoring growth and development of the teeth and jaws
• Performing surgical procedures on the teeth, bone and soft tissues of the oral cavity
• Remove decay from teeth and fill cavities
• Repair cracked or fractured teeth and remove teeth
• Straighten teeth to correct bite issues
• Place sealants or whitening agents on teeth
• Write prescriptions for antibiotics or other medications
• Teach patients about flossing, diet, use of fluoride, and other aspects of dental care

Salary: $166,810
