Duties and responsibilities:
Orthopedic surgeons treat patients' musculoskeletal systems. This means they care for patients who have problems with their bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Salary: $405,000 - $480,000
Education:
four years of medical school, followed by a 4- to 5-year orthopedic surgery residency in a hospital.
Demand:
four additional years of medical school, followed by a 4- to 5-year orthopedic surgery residency in a hospital.
