Optometry Technician / Assistant
Duties and responsibilities: Optometrist assistants, a specialized kind of medical assistant, work in the offices of optometrists, eye and vision care clinics, and other facilities that provide vision care services. Optometrist assistants help optometrists by conducting diagnostic tests, recording and measuring vision, testing eye function, instructing patients in inserting and caring for contact lenses, preparing examination rooms, cleaning and arranging equipment, answering phones, making appointments, handling bookkeeping and other tasks as needed.
